Making a reservation

1. How do I reserve my room?

Our reservation process is very simple.
- Select or introduce the desired destination (city, island, village etc.), dates of check in and check out, and number of adults and children (if any please specify the exact age of each child)
- Click "Search" to find all hotels with available rooms on the dates selected. A list of hotels will appear on the screen.
- For more information on a specific hotel, click on the rate or on the "Continue" button.
- Once room types and rates are displayed on your screen, for the selected hotel, you will be able to choose the rate and room type desired according to the room type description and click "Continue" on the right side of the screen in order to proceed.
- Once you have selected your desired room type, you will be taken to the "Reservation Customer Info" page, where you will be asked to fill in the respective fields with your personal information. Be sure your name and email address are spelled correctly and that you fill in all "required" fields. After you fill out all the required information, press "Continue".
- If all information is correctly introduced on the "Reservation Customer Info" page you will be guided to "Payment Details" page where you will be able to review the information of your selection before introducing your credit card details. Make sure that all your personal information is correct and that the dates, room type and hotel selection are correct. Please also read carefully the cancellation policy for the specific reservation.
- Fill in the Credit Card details information on the bottom of the "Payment Details" page and press "Book" to complete your purchase.
- As soon as you reservation is completed a Success page will appear on the screen with all the information of your reservation and you will receive an email confirming your booking. If further correspondence is necessary, a Customer Care agent will reply back to you with an email or a call within 24 hours.

2. Can I book more than one room at a time?

Yes. You can book up to 4 rooms in a single transaction.

3. Is it safe to use my credit card?

Yes. Transaction safety and security is an issue of major importance for our company. To ensure the security of your transactions, we use a secure server (SSL 128 bit), which encrypts the credit card number and encodes it to a non-usable form. The encryption process is certified by Thatwe and your credit card details are being revealed only to the financial institution operating the transaction. Furthermore, our payment gateway features 3D secure technology certified by VISA and MasterCard. Our staff cannot read and does not have access to the details of your card and which are not being saved in our system in any way.

4. Which credit card types are accepted for online payment?

VISA and MasterCard as well as debit cards of the same companies such as VISA Electron.

5. My credit card number is correct, but the system is not accepting it. Why?

There are a few possibilities:
-The specific card type cannot be used for online payments via our website.
-The credit card expires before the reservation date.
-You have reached your credit limit.
-There is a computer error.

6. When will I be charged for my hotel reservation?

For certain hotels you will be charged at the time of booking. For other reservations, you will be expected to pay the property directly at the time of your stay. Please check on the booking details page or your confirmation email.

7. May I request the exact location of my room (preferred floor, next to pool, etc.)?

If the hotel has the possibility to attend special requests, these will be available to select at the completion of the reservation form. The hotel staff will do what’s possible to meet your needs. However, we cannot guarantee that your preferences will be served since many times these depend on the level of hotel occupancy at the check in date.

8. Is the room rate per person or per night?

- On the "Hotels Result Page" the rate displayed is per room and per day (usually corresponding to the cheapest room of your selection, e.g. if you have selected double room for 2 adults the daily rate will correspond to the cheapest double room available)
- On the "Hotel Information" page all rates are displayed next to the respective room type, therefore they correspond to the room rate (both per day and total).

Taxes and fees are included unless otherwise specified in the detailed Rate Rules. You will be able to review the exact sum corresponding to Taxes and Fees both on "Reservation Customer Info" and "Payment Details" pages. Extra people, children, roll-away beds and incidentals may be subject to additional charges.

9. What about the special discounts?

Many of the participating hotels offer promotional rates to our users. These rates offer substantial savings. On the Hotels Results Page you will be able to select the option "Promo rates first" and review all hotels offering special rates for the dates that you have selected.

10. Is there a waiting list for sold out hotels?

No, there is no such list. If a hotel is not presented on the hotel results then you cannot book it or place your name on any kind of waiting list.

Confirming a Reservation

11. What happens when I make a reservation?

Once you have inserted your credit card details on the "Payment Details" page and after having pressed "Book" you will be guided to a new screen ('Success Page") where your reservation number will be displayed. You should keep this number for any future communication with us. Additionally, right below the reservation number you will be able to see the hotel provider (e.g. Expedia) and next to it the reference number.This is the number you will have to mention at the reception of the hotel upon your arrival, although just mentioning your name usually is more than enough for the front office clerks to retrieve your booking.

Additionaly, we inform you that all reservations are being confirmed instantly (the latest within 30 minutes) via email in which you will find all the booking details.

12. I don't have time to wait for confirmation. What should I do?

Usually most of the reservations are completed instantly within several seconds. You will be notified regarding the confirmation of your booking the latest within 30 minutes. If you observe any kind of unusual delay please contact us via email at hotels@Mytrip.com or via phone at +44-844-7747881. If there is any special request, this will be forwarded to the Customer Care Department which will deal with the issue accordingly.

13. When will the hotel be informed of my booking?

Usually, the hotel is being notified for your reservation, the latest within 48 hours from the time of the booking. However, if you desire to contact the hotel directly in order to reconfirm your booking, you should mention to the hotelier the provider name which is written just right below the Reservation Number as well as the respective reference number next to the hotel providers name (e.g. Expedia, 69008797

14. Once I have made my reservation, will I receive any written confirmation from the hotel?

No. The email confirmation you receive from www.Mytrip.com contains all the necessary information. It displays your Reservation Number, information on the hotel, the rate and room type booked, the Check - in Reference as well as the hotel's cancellation policy.

15. What should I do if I didn't receive a Booking Confirmation Email after completing my reservation?

Generally, confirmations are sent within 15 minutes after the completion of your booking, although sometimes it can take a few hours to receive the confirmation email. Please make sure that you have reviewed your Spam Folder. You may need to add this site to your "allowed" senders list to receive confirmation emails and information regarding future bookings. In case you need further assistance please contact our Customer Care Dept.

16. How do I modify my hotel reservation?

The best way to modify your reservation is by sending us an email to hotels@Mytrip.com . Our customer service representatives will help you find alternative room types, dates, or hotels to ensure your stay will match your updated needs.

17. If I change a hotel reservation, will I still get the same rate?

Rates and availability are subject to change, so it is possible that the rate will be different from your original reservation. 

Cancelling a Reservation

18. Which is the cancellation policy for my reservation?

The cancellation policy of each hotel is being displayed on the Hotel Details Page and on all the susequent pages up to the Payment Page as well as on the Success Page (the screen that will appear on your computer once you have completed successfully your booking) and of course on the Booking Confirmation Mail. The cancellation policy is being mentioned on a small pop up window that you will be able to see once you click the respective link underneathy each room type.  Generally most of the hotels will charge you 1 night stay fees, if you cancel 24-72 hours prior to the check-in date. However, these are general rules; therefore we recommend you read carefully the cancellation policy of the hotel you are willing to book. You should also take into consideration that the cancellation policy of a hotel is usually stricter during high or peak season. There are also hotels that do not accept cancellations after the completion of the booking for all or some of the room types provided as well as for special offer rates (non-refundable rates). 

19. How do I cancel a reservation?

and follow the procedure indicated.

20. Am I going to receive a refund for my cancellation and when?

In case you are entitled to receive a refund based on the cancellation policy of the hotel for the specific booking, please note that a refund request is issued at the time you realize the cancellation. Please not that refunds may take up to 30 days  from cancellation date to be visible on your account. Please bare in mind that no refund is realized for Non - refundable reservations. 


21. Which are the most common hotel room types?

There are 2 different ways of room categorization that you might encounter on a hotel or lodging. The first one refers to the room type (e.g. standard, studio, deluxe etc.) while the second categorization has to do with the number of persons that a room can host (single, double, triple etc.)

STANDARD rooms usually represent the basic room type of a hotel which provides basic amenities and offers standard services.
SUPERIOR rooms (in some hotels you might find the term "executive") are the rooms superior to the standard rooms in terms of size, furnishing quality and offered services. Another rather usual differentiating element between standard and superior rooms is the offered room view.
DELUXE rooms are the third and most elegant room category that a visitor may encounter in a hotel. These rooms are superior to the other 2 room types in terms of size, view, furnishing, services etc. Apart from the room types described, there are hotels that are offering Suites. Suites are generally distinguished between JUNIOR SUITES and SUITES.
Junior Suite is usually a quite bigger room with separate living room where in some cases the bedroom is separated from the rest of the room with a door and in some other with some kind of separator which does not separates the 2 spaces completely.
A Suite is usually a rather spacey room which has 2 separate rooms (1 bedroom and a living room) which are separated with a door. Please bare in mind that many hotels define as Suite any room that has a sofa or a sofa bed (sofa that converts to a bed).
Studios are rooms similar to Junior Suites in terms of layout but are significantly more austere rooms. What characterizes Studios is the fact that there are cooking facilities in the room (kitchen, kitchenette etc.). This room type is more expected to be found at lower class hotels, rooms to let and coastal lodgings.
Apartments are similar rooms to Studios with one or two bedrooms, the number of which is usually mentioned in the room description (e.g. 1-bedroom apartment, 2-bedroom apartment) and a living room. Both studios and apartments usually offer one single rate for the room, independently from the number of the persons that will use the room (e.g. 2-4 persons 80 euro/day).

Some other room type terms you might encounter are:
Run of House which practically means the lower quality room type available at check in, which can be a standard room with limited or fair view, a typical standard room or in rare cases a higher quality room such as a superior.
Economy Room or Promo are terms describing a standard room which is being offered at a better price because of the fact that it is a little bit smaller among the standard rooms of the hotel, has limited or fair view etc.

It is important to keep in mind that the definitions mentioned above, describe in general terms the respective room types, however the exact quality of the services offered, depends on the hotel, its category and location. For example a standard room in a 5 star hotel may possibly offer better services than a superior room of a 3 star hotel. There are also cases that the scale of room types in a hotel start from the term superior room.

The second way of categorization separates the rooms to single, double, triple, quadruple, family rooms depending on the number of persons allocated in each room.

In some cases a double room may be sold from the hotel as a single room (Double for Single Use) which is practically a double room which is offered at a lower rate (intermediate between the standard double and single rooms) for exclusive single use.

A double room may also be offering one double bed (which is actually the proper double room) or 2 single beds (twin room). If the hotel is not able to guarantee that your double room will have a specific bed types then the room will be mentioned as double/twin. You may send your preference however you will not know until the check in whether your room will contain 2 single beds or a double room, since this is subject to room type availability at the date of your check in.

Please read carefully all the information related with the amenities and the maximum number of persons allowed for each room.

22. What type of customer service is offered?

Once your reservation is completed, you will be sent an e-mail with a reservation number which can be used for any question you might have concerning your reservation. Our friendly agents at the Customer Care Department will assist you promptly. All you have to do is ask by sending us an email at hotels@Mytrip.com or calling us at +44-844-7747881.

23. I'm looking for a hotel in Mykonos. Can you help me?

Unfortunately not. Our Customer Care Department cannot perform hotel searches for clients due to high volume of reservations. Please use the respective search engine for selecting the hotel that matches your needs, among more than 130.000 hotels and accommodation options all over the world.

24. Is there a hotel shuttle service to/from the airport?

Many hotels offer transfer to and from the airport. If such service is provided, this will be mentioned on the "Hotel Information". This service, depending on the hotel, might be offered either free or with extra charge. Mytrip.com does not offer transfer services from and to airport and in case that you desire such service, you will need to contact the hotel after the completion of your reservation in order to be informed accordingly.

25. Is parking available? Free parking? Long-term parking?

Most hotels offer free parking to their guests, although some may charge. Long-term parking is offered at the discretion of the hotel. For more information you may look on the hotels information page.

26. Is it possible to bring my pet? Will the hotel allow it? 

Pet policy varies from hotel to hotel. If the hotel you are seeking to book shows as "Pets Considered", please contact the Customer Care Dept. for more assistance.

27. Do the children stay free of charge at the hotel?

Usually the first child up to 12 years old may stay free of charge in the room of his parents using the existing bed facilities. The age limit may vary from hotel to hotel. The exact information for each hotel is available on the "Hotels Information" page. Selecting cautiously the number of children and their respective age while using the search engine of Mytrip.com, will ensure that on the hotels results the room types displayed may host the family combination introduced at the respective rate.

28. Are rollaway beds/cribs available?

Most hotels offer rollaway beds and cribs. Some may have restrictions on what room types will allow rollaway beds. Usually the rooms where an extra bed may be added are the double rooms. The quality of such beds varies from hotel to hotel and is being affected by the category of the hotel.

29. Where will I find directions in order to reach the hotel?

On the "Hotel Information" page you will be able to find directions which will help you locate the hotel booked. Usually these directions define the hotel distance from a certain point of reference or from the airport. Further more, on the "Hotel Information" page of each hotel there is a map of the area where you hotel is located as well as signs and directions which will guide you to the exact location of your hotel.

30. Is breakfast included in the room rate?

Many hotels offer free breakfast. Often this is continental breakfast or sometimes just coffee and donuts. If included, thiswill be mentioned next to the room type description (e.g. double bed and breakfast or double breakfast included).
You may also find the following abbreviations next to the room types

RO=Room Only (that means that for the specific room type breakfast is not included)
BB= Bed and Breakfast (breakfast is included)
HB= Half Board (breakfast and meal or dinner are included)
FB= Full Board (breakfast, meal and dinner are included)
AI= All Inclusive (all meals included plus refreshments and extra options like pizza etc.)
SC= Self Catering (breakfast is not included, this is a term that you will find next to apartments/studios having cooking facilities)

The major types of breakfast offered at hotels are the following:

Continental Breakfast: Usually includes most or all of the following: sliced bread, butter / jam / honey, cheese, ham, croissants, pastries, rolls, fruit juice, coffee / tea / chocolate / milk.

English Breakfast: known also as full breakfast, usually includes most or all of the following: cereals, porridge, fruit, yogurt, eggs with bacon, fried bread, jam, tea and coffee.

American Breakfast: fried or poached eggs, bacon, sausages, sliced or toasted bread with jam, jelly and butter, pancakes with syrup, cornflakes or other cereals, coffee or tea and orange or grapefruit juice.

Breakfast Buffet: is a long table with a variety of food for informal eating like: scrambled eggs, fried potatoes, bacon, sausage, ham, corned beef hash, southern gravy and biscuits, english muffins, and bagels. In an iced "salad bar table" there could be fresh fruit, fruit juices, or an assortment of coffee cakes and other pastries.

31. What is the Refund Policy of Mytrip.com?

In case of hotel booking cancellation you might be entitled to partial or full refund of your reservation. The final amount to be refunded will be based on the cancellation policy of the hotel and the respective fees. The total amount to be refunded will be the total value of the booking minus the penalty fee. The refund of your money, according to the above, will be completed within 15-30 days from the application date. Mytrip.com strives to provide the best service possible and will work on behalf of our clients to rectify any regrettable circumstances relative to your reservation. However, we act only as an independent agent to secure services of an air carrier, car rental supplier, hotel, or other travel related supplier. Therefore, we have no control over personnel, equipment, or operations of these suppliers and shall not be held liable for any inconvenience, personal injury, property damage, or other loss incurred as a result of any wrongful acts, omissions, or default on the part of the suppliers.

32. How do I get receipt for my hotel reservation?

After you have made your booking, we will send you a confirmation email, which also serves as your receipt. Upon check-out, you will receive a receipt from the hotel detailing any additional charges you might have incurred throughout your stay. 

33. Do hotels have minimum age requirements?

Yes. Some hotels may have minimum age requirement for staying at the hotel. For example, some hotels operating a Casino may not be allowing guests less than 21 year old. There are also hotels exclusive for couples while some hotels do not allow children less than 16 years old. Usually this information will be mentioned on the hotel description.
